History
Our Lady's Primary School was established in 1957 when parents
and parish combined skills to construct the original building.
Times change, but community spirit remains strong as does commitment
to care, achievement and excellence - traditions maintained for
forty years at Our Lady's.
Vision Statement
The vision of Our Lady’s School is based on the Gospel teachings
of Christ. We believe that all people have the right to grow,
learn and develop in an atmosphere of respect, encouragement and
fairness, free from discrimination and prejudice. We recognise
the importance of community in pursuing and realising this belief.
This includes the school community, the parish community and the
wider community who are invited to become involved in our school
in different ways.
We support the UNESCO draft declaration for learning under the
following headings:
LEARNING TO KNOW
LEARNING TO DO
LEARNING TO LIVE TOGETHER
LEARNING TO BE
At Our Lady’s, pursuit of learning under these headings is seen
to address the philosophy outlined in the first paragraph above,
encompassing the spiritual, emotional, physical and social development
of the children in our care. This is the vision we share at Our
Lady’s Primary School.
Mission Statement
We believe our catholic school to be a place where all can find
meaning in their lives.
It is a dynamic and authentic learning community where teachers
meet the challenge of creating the best possible teaching and
learning environment.
We believe that, as teachers, we can inspire and empower others
and that we can be compassionate people of hope in a changing
society.
Through teamwork and shared leadership we are able to foster our
school identity.
We are energised by the young people to whom we minister and find
strength in constructive and caring relationships with colleagues.
We are enlivened by the enthusiasm, care and laughter in our school.
We are a faith community. |
